Our Agenda

My plan is simple, but it will take hard work and courage to make it happen:

♦ Clean-up government and punish corruption by adopting tough new ethics rules and creating an ethics commission.

♦ Balance the budget without higher taxes.

♦ Help businesses create jobs by getting governmentout of the way, not with reckless bailout schemes.

♦ Protect homes and families by making public safety a top priority.

Voters in San Bernardino County are weary of the ongoing corruption and scandal in the County.  To tackle to real issues, we need representatives who are free from the cloud of ethical problems and who can clean up government.

We are all eager for a change – but it will take hard work to restore trust, accountability and transparency in government.

These reasons have compelled me to become a candidate for the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors.

We must make changes in how County officials conduct themselves so that taxpayers believe the right things are being done for the right reasons. The specifics of the reforms must still be worked out, but we must ensure reforms include opening all records to public and media scrutiny, banning gifts to elected officials from those who might profit from decisions, providing a mechanism to investigate wrongdoing and ensuring stronger oversight of public projects.

These actions are needed to root out and punish corruption, create safeguards to prevent future corruption and, most importantly, restore public trust in local government.

Fontana Mayor Endorses Janice Rutherford

Restoring that trust is vital – we have a lot to deal with.  Unemployment has surged past 15% (that’s one out of every six people!), people are still losing their homes, businesses are failing, bankruptcies are at all-time high and our economy is struggling.  We need leaders to make tough decisions.  We cannot afford to wallow any longer in the shadow of conspiracy and corruption.

I ask for your vote and your support. If you agree that it is time to change our County’s reputation and get on with the important work at hand, please spread the word to your neighbors and friends and ask them to vote for me on November 2nd.

All the Best,
Janice
